Early memories

Les was a lovely child, so handsome with his fair hair, complete with "cow's lick".
We were all very proud of him.
He would stand up in his pram and shout encouragement to his two older brothers (Bryce and I), requiring to be pushed faster. (I think he was more civil to Sybel when being pushed by her).
Of course he was always very determined and knew exactly what he wanted.
He hated to be called "Leslie" and for some years became a bear called Muskwa (from RM Ballantyne's "Ungava, a favourite bedtime story)
Early on he loved animals and the outdoors, hammering nails, making things, and in turn boats (when we lived at Oban during the war and later at Hunter's Quay on the Firth of Clyde), horses (he had a pony called Molly), then motorbikes and more.
Always to perfection. Motorbikes had to be raced, and dismantled and reassembled down to the last nut.
School homework was done to the accompaniment of his own bagpipes, as he learned both together.
Then came Uni and Vet College and the next dedication - I can leave Jill to continue.
After all these years was our early pride in him justified ?
What do you think ?!
